Anno 2026 cursus de litteris latinis ope retis omnium gentium in auditorio zoomico, ut aiunt, Thomas Bórri (Tommaso vulgo italorum) et Lucia Lanzillotta (Lee vulgo anglorum) praebebimus. Mense augusto cursibus autumnalibus nomen dare licebit; eodem mense ineunte horas ac dies hīc divulgabimus.

In 2026 we, i.e. Tommaso Bórri and Lee “Lucia” Lanzillotta, will offer courses on Latin literature through Zoom. In August it will be possible to sign up for the autumn courses; at the beginning of the same month we will publicize the hours and days of those classes.
After the classes, we will send a video recording to the students.

EN: Tommaso Francesco Bórri will teach passages from the first book of Cicero’s “Tusculanae disputationes”. We will continue reading what we read in the previous courses (fall 2025 and winter 2026); however, all are welcome. The course will be taught in Latin, but more difficult matters may be explained in the vernacular languages (English, Italian, French, or Spanish) if the students wish.
When: Every Saturday, 17:30-18:45 in Italy, from the 18th of April to the 20th of June.
Price: €100 for high school or university students / €150 for everyone else.

Tractabimus locos de Civitatibus Foederatis, de Mexico, de Brasilia, inter alios, qui a saeculo Christophori Columbi usque ad tempus nostrum scripti sunt.

Although Latin originated in Europe, it was used almost everywhere. Even in both of the Americas (North and South) it was used by Jesuits and their students, among others, but texts about these lands, more recently known to Europeans, are rarely read in class. For this reason, Lucia has decided to read some of these works. We will discuss passages about the United States, Mexico, and Brasil, among other countries, which were written from the time of Christopher Columbus to our own age.
Price: €100 for high school or university students / €150 for everyone else.
When: every Tuesday 17:30-18:45 in Italy, from the 14th of April to the 16th of June.

In this course, Lee, who herself is accustomed to memorizing poems and other material using the Art of Memory (also called Memory Palaces in English, for example on the television series Sherlock), will read with the students passages from Latin books not only relating to the Art of Memory but also to memory more generally in antiquity and more recent times. We will discuss works by the author of the ad Herennium, Cicero, Augustine, Giordano Bruno, among others.
